Overview of the beginning of the establishment of Hijri Calendar. In the reign of Caliph Omar precisely in 17 Hijri, defined as the Hijri Calendar Islamic government official calendar. Makkah Clock, the Biggest clock in the world

Makkah clock is the biggest clock in the world, in the same time is the second tallest building in the world, standing at 577 meters high it will 59 meters taller than the Taipei Tower in Taiwan but still shorter than the Burj Dubai (or Burj Khalifa) which stands at a huge 828 meters.

The Clock Faces will sit at a height of 380 Meters on all sides of the royal tower and be visible from up to 17 km during the night. The two largest faces will be 80m by 65m with an actual clock face of 39M Diameter. The "smaller" two faces being 65m by 39m with a clock face of 25m diameter.

Each Clock Face will bear the Name of Allah and an Observation platform will be sited just 5m below each face served by two lifts.

Makkah Time vs Greenwich Mean Time at the Clock Royal Tower

Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) has long been the time the time standard that we have all set out clocks to, however the Islamic scholars are now stating that as Makkah is the true center of the world we should all move over to "Makkah Time".

Parkour ; a new sport in Gaza Strip

Parkour and free running is a new sport that Popular in this era, is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one's path by adapting one's movements to the environment. It is a non-competitive, physical discipline of french origin in which participants run along a route, attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way possible, using only their bodies. Skills such as jumping, climbing, vaulting, rolling and swinging are employed. Parkour can be practiced anywhere, but areas dense with obstacles are preferable, and it is most commonly practiced in urban areas.

We can look the action of parkour sport on movies and news, like yamakasi, etc. As we know Parkour is a dangerous sport, but it's also a Unique and fun sport.

Many young people in any countries love this sport called parkour, no exception youth boys who live in gaza strip also like this sport.



Muhammad and Abdullah on BBC Arab channel, told his story how them playing and learn parkour. Caused blockade and war Israel - Palestine, they learn this sport only from the internet, and then practice it in the pages of the school and the former buildings that were destroyed by the war and also near the cemetery

13.000 Palestinians memorise whole Quran in Gaza summer camps 2010



A celebration has been held in Gaza for 13.000 Palestinian students who memorised the whole Holy Quran during their summer camp this year. The memorisation programme was a project initiated by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. The achievement of the students has boosted the morale of the people of Gaza, many of whom have said that this is a positive response to events such as the desecration of a copy of the Quran in front of the White House recently, as well as many other widely publicised attempts in America to defile the Holy Book. Those who have memorised the whole Quran will find that it is a source of comfort and blessing in their daily struggle to live a normal life in besieged Gaza.



Shaikh Ismail Haniyeh, the Prime Minister of the Palestinian government in Gaza, joined the Minister of Awqaf, workers from his ministry, parents and others to congratulate the students for their diligence and achievement and to pray collectively for the preservation of the Palestinian people and their homeland. It was also announced that as a result of this successful project, the Ministry of Awqaf plan is that by the end of next year there should be at least one Hafiz (memoriser of the Holy Quran) in each family in Gaza, Insha’Allah (God-willing)!

Taraweh Prayer in Amr ibn El-Ash Mosque,Fustat-Egypt




The Amr bin Aas Mosque, named after the Arab general who led the invasion of Egypt in AD 639, was the first Mosque built in Egypt – as well as the continent of Africa. It is not considered the oldest surviving Islamic monument in Egypt, as it has been rebuilt several times; thus none of its original structure remains.



General Amr himself built the First Mosque in Fustat in AD 642, where he located it just west of the Nile. It was a small mosque (measuring 17 x 20 meters), modeled after the Prophet’s mosque at Medina (Hijra city of Arabia). The mosque’s structure was constructed in unbaked bricks, while the prayer hall used palm trunks in place of pillars, and covered in thatches palm leaves and mud. The initial construction had no courtyard, nor minaret, nor mihrab. The mosque’s central location allowed it to act as a nucleus to the city, where the local (including General Amr) built their houses surrounding it.
Early Reconstructions of Amr bin Aas Mosque

The growing Muslim community found the mosque too small, which prompted governor Maslama bin Mukhalled to double its area in AD 673. Among his additions, he placed mats on the floor and plaster on the walls, and added minarets at each of the building's four corners, each reaching by outer staircase – similar to the minarets that stood at the corners of the old temple of Damascus.

Until now the mosque is still used, especially when the date of 27 Ramadan tens of thousands of Egyptian in droves, praying tarawih here.

An Introduction to Prophet Mohammed PBUH



Muhammad ibn Abdullah was born in an environment of ignorance and hate; where people worshiped numerous idols and were divided into tribes. They cut ties of kinship between them and fought each other for most trivial reasons, where the strong oppressed the weak.



Until God sent them a messenger, Prophet Mohammad; a mercy upon mankind, may peace and blessings be upon him. They knew well his honorable lineage, and he was known for his truthfulness and honesty. He invited them to the oneness of God and to worship Allah alone, and to abandon worship of idols. He ordered them to adhere to truthfulness, honesty, loyalty and the fulfillment of promises. He ordered them to commit to honoring one's parents, upholding the ties of kinship,
being a good neighbor, and justice between people. He ordered them to stop tribalism, bloodshed, wish good for one another, encouraged them to give charity to the poor, to take care of the widows and the orphans, and to free slaves. He commanded them to perform prayers for God, commit to charity , fasting the month of Ramadan, to worship Allah alone and to ascribe no partners unto Him.



But why do some people deliberately distort the image of our beloved Prophet Mohammad? Why do some media outlets publish lies about him? Is it a misunderstanding or is it an organized conspiracy? Or is it a mixture between the two? A mixture that happened in an age of deception. An age where the truthful is condemned to be lying, the liar is thought to be trustworthy, an age where the betrayer is entrusted and the honest is condemned of betrayal. An age of confusion between the truth and falsehood, where the truth seems false and the false seems true.



But however high falsehood raises and however tough concepts get mixed, the light of God cannot be extinguished by anything, and guidance is a inevitable to those who are seeking the truth.

Palestinian girls win prize at Intel International Competition

The 14-year-old girls, Aseel Abu Aleil, Aseel Alshaar and Noor Alarada, took their prize for a prototype walking cane for the blind that "beeps" to alert the user of drop-offs and obstacles. The girls were the first Palestinians to participate in Intel's international youth science fair.

"Unlike other electronic canes that send an infrared signal forward, the girls’ invention has a 'seeing' sensor below that beeps when the surface changes, such as near stairs, holes or water, up to 30 inches away," the UN report said.

The girls received high praise from Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon when the met the leader at UN headquarters in New York.

"This is a story about brain power not fire power. You are not only helping the blind, but helping the world to see," Ban said. "I am very impressed by your brilliant idea. This is the truth that I repeat every day. By empowering women, we can achieve anything in the world."

Abu Aleil came up with the idea for the cane after seeing her blind aunt and uncle navigate the steep hills of Nablus. Abu Aleil built the cane with Aseel Alshaar and Noor Alarada.

Fashioning the cane was no simple task after the science and theory - locating the spare parts in the West Bank was difficult, and gathering them from Israel was not much of an option given the travel restrictions faced by Palestinians. Still, they were able to build two prototype canes after several trips to Ramallah, which meant braving two Israeli checkpoints, to hunt for the circuits and sensors in electronics stores.

Obstacle-detecting canes are nothing new - so-called "laser canes" have been around since the 1970s. But the girls' cane resolves a flaw found in previous canes, according to the American Federation of the Blind's technology division director Mark Uslan, as their cane detects holes and drop-offs.

The girls returned to Nablus with $250 in each of their pockets and plans to "have a big party," the UN report said.
